Flower Garden

Here's My Card for The Friday Mashup 102 - Triple Challenge. I've wanted to try this technique of brayering ink onto an embossing folder and this challenge seemed the perfect opportunity.

The challenge also suggested this sketch, and that is what brought me to use the Flower Garden embossing folder; it reminded me of the sketch.  So my card was definitely inspired by the sketch and I also used butterflies and my brayer.

I used Primrose Petals ink on my brayer then coated the embossing folder with ink.  After running through the Big Shot I got this effect.  I matted it on Basic Grey and then added butterflies in Summer Starfruit and Baja Breeze.  A little bit of Dazzling Details, a sentiment from Vintage Verses and a few rhinestones completed the card.

Monochromatic Man!

Here's My Card for The Friday Mashup Challenge 100: Let's Celebrate!  The idea was to pick one of the past challenges; so I looked through all of them and settled
on #6 - Monochromatic Man!

The challenge was to use a Monochromatic colour scheme,
or do a Masculine card, or Mash It Up and do both!

I needed to make a birthday card for my nephew and wanted to try a gift card holder I had seen at Christmas.   I chose a Chocolate Chip monochromatic theme, and added brads and hardware to keep with the masculine theme.  As it is supposed to look like a wrapped gift box I added a bow, but tried to keep it simple and not too "girly".  I also used clear embossing powder for the background stamp (Affection Collection) and the sentiment (Teeny Tiny Words).  All products are Stampin' Up!  The ribbon, DSP and large brad are all retired.

The top pulls off/out to reveal the gift.  In this case I am going to use cash, but a gift card works as well.  The strip inside holding the gift was dry embossed with the Elegant Brocade folder and the sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

Oh Baby! Hello!

Here's My Card for three challenges this week.  This is the first time I've combined three challenges in one.  All three combined well to make a fun card.  The first was from The Friday Mashup which was to make a baby card using the colours Pool Party, Real Red and So Saffron.

The second challenge was a theme challenge from The Paper Players.  It had to be sewing themed or include stitches.

The next challenge was a sketch from Mojo Monday which brought the whole thing together!

So here it is.

I used the the paper piercing tool and the Pool Party marker to create faux stitching; I think the clouds in the Cloudy Day embossing folder sort of look like stitches too.  The sentiments are from Ciao! Baby and Tiny Tags, the whale is the Happy Whale Clearlits Die (love it!).  The Pool Party DSP is from Sweet Shop (ret.) and is perfect for the waves, and the scrap of So Saffron (ret.) reminds me of a baby blanket so I thought it was a perfect fit. The cardstock is Naturals White.  All products are Stampin' Up!

This was a fun card to make, hope you like it.

Tiz.
